Birgit M. Liodden, TOOL Founder / CEO
Birgit has been a change agent for next generation & sustainable leadership in the maritime industry for more than a decade. Her former roles include; Director of Nor-Shipping, Founder & SG of YoungShip International, and Project Manager Global Systems & Processes at Wilh.Wilhelmsen, Director of Sustainability, Ocean Industries & Communication at Oslo Business Region, and Project Manager for Oslo European Green Capital’s cross-industry Business program.
Birgit holds executive board roles in The Norwegian Society for Sea Rescue, The Factory, GreenStat and Bellona Foundation, and is the Working Chair of the Norwegian Organization for Electric Boats. She serve on the Executive Committee of Polytechnic Association (Norway) and the advisory boards of REV Ocean, SHE Community, Generation Mobility and Southern Africa Norway Association. She is also a popular speaker & moderator, having moderated a.o. President Barack Obama, several Norwegian Ministers and corporate executives. She has received a number of awards & rankings for her leadership in Norway and abroad. In 2018, she was among the 150 top finalists for World Economic Forum´s Young Global Leaders.

Lydie Meso, Practice Student / Coordinator
Lydie joins The Ocean Opportunity Lab, for her one semester industry practice which is part her current bachelor program at Universitetet i Sørøst-Norge.
She is 25 years old, 3rd year student at shipping and logistics. Through her degree, she has gained knowledge about the maritime industry as well as logistics and economics.
Dagny Thurmann-Moe, Captain of Color & Design (External Advisor/Partner)
Briliant Dagny Thurmann-Moe orchestrate design concept, palette & color selection at TOOL. Her initial vibe after first visit onboard was The Life Aquatic, which we just loved!
Dagny is Creative leader, color designer and planner of urban spaces & architecture in KOI Fargestudio. She is one of Norway´s most influential color designers, with 10+ years experience in the field. She has been an entrepreneur with her own studio since 2014.
Dagny is a driving force for awareness and targeted use of colors, and published her book “Colors to the People” in 2017, later distributed in 4 countries. She is a visible face in the media, and a sought-after expert on color use, trends, and the value of enhancing life quality by using the right colors across architecture, interiors & fashion.
Endre Thesen Harnes, Co-Captain, Technical & Community
Our Arctic alibi, project manager, film producer and musician. Former Project Mgr at Katapult Future Fest and OBR, founding partner/CEO of Klikkmonster and Spoon Train, editorial lead at Radio Nova. Entrepreneurial soul with special interest in sustainable food, who also tours Norway with his Lofoten-origined band Lyse Netter.

Charlotte Nafina Lunga, Co-captain of Events/Commercial mgt.
Charlotte Lunga will join TOOL as Head of events & commercial shortly.
Charlotte is a former project & event manager at Stratos, Sales & marketing manager for Servos Group, Sales consultant for Megaprint, and has worked on hotel and sales support, banquette & front desk for Thon Hotels. She has a bachelor in creativity, innovation and business development from Høyskolen Christiania, with semester in Hotel & Resort Management from Universitetet i Sørøst-Norge. Charlotte is a board member and former Secretary General of the Norwegian Entrepreneur Association (Gründerforeningen). She also runs an ecological farm part time with her family.

Roberto Giorgi, Mentor & External Industry Advisor (Monaco/London)
Monaco/London based Roberto is Chairman of Fraser Yachts, a company he has been involved with since V.Ships bought it in a joint partnership with Azimut Benetti in 2004. He is a Board member of Scorpio Bulkers Inc., and Committee member (Board) of Skuld P&I Club.
He is the Honorary President, former President and member of the Group Executive of V.Ships, the world’s largest ship management company. From 1988 to 2014, Mr. Giorgi has held various roles within V.Ships, including President of V.Ships Ship Management, Managing Director of V.Ships New York, head of V.Ships Leisure in the cruise sector, and head of V.Ship’s ship management operation from its Monaco office. From 2008 to 2010, Mr. Giorgi also served as President of InterManager, the international trade association for third-party and in-house ship managers, whose members between them are responsible for approximately 3,700 ships and more than 200,000 crew members.

Hege is an agile business leader with a broad international experience in running shipping operations in a number of countries.
For the past 9 years she had lived and worked in the Middle East, Black Sea and South East Asia as Regional Director for Wilhelmsen Ships Service (WSS). Her background also include VP Liner & Business Director Maritime Logistics in WSS, and has worked for Atlantic Container Line and Ivaran Lines.
She is a keen supporter of a diverse business environment and a keen supporter of female entrepreneurs and female leaders, and holds a bachelor in Supply Chain Management from BI.
Javad Mushtaq, External Industry Advisor, Founder of MAK
Javad is a serial entrepreneur and investor, CEO of MAK, a company working with systemic change related to diversity as competitive advantage for businesses. He also heads MyMentor, and is founder & CEO of JM Ventures – Norway´s first investment company with diversity as core focus. Javad is Global Lead for the Equity and Inclusion Steering Committee of Global Shapers in World Economic Forum, and lead of Global Shapers Oslo. He is on the Advisory board for REV Ocean / World Ocean Headquarters, and Deputy to the Board of Directors at University of South East Norway. Liané Thompson, External Industry Advisor, Founder & CEO of Aquaai (US/Oslo)
Liané is the founding CEO of Aquaai, an impact-driven B2B startup using AI, computer vision and eco-friendly robotic fish platforms to gater data from the ocean. Aquaai technology currently monitors sustainable Norwegian salmon farms. Prior to Aquaai, Liané spent 20 years as a global journalist, TV producer and media executive. Jan Peder has a strong shipping background, and sits on the Logistics Mgt. Team in one of the worlds largest aluminum companies. He is a board member of Shipping & Offshore Network, and a Mentor in the WISTA Norway mentor program for female talents. His background spans from MD of Höegh Autoliners Shortsea Americas, Board member of Shiplog, Deputy MD of Euro Marine Logistics, and Head of Operations Region Europe & Oceania in Höegh. A former Naval Officer in the Royal Norwegian Navy and 1st Officer in Wilhelmsen / Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics.
Tine Viveka Westerberg, Assistant Professor of Maritime Management at the University of South-Eastern Norway and Liverpool John Moores University
Tine is currently a member of the EU expert group on “Skills and career development in the Blue Economy”. She is also a member of the Ocean Industry Forum Oslofjord Competence Committee.
Tine has worked with international higher education and research cooperation since 1998. Her main focus has been international study programs, internships and knowledge sharing across borders. She is currently undertaking research on cooperation between academia and business in the maritime industry. She has a background as Head of the International Office at Nord University, and as a Project Manager and Competence Advisor for the Norwegian Shipowners’ Association.
