28 Million NOK for Hydrogen-fuelled Work Boat

Prime Minister Erna Solberg announces that 28 million NOK have been granted to develop the aquaculture industry’s first hydrogen-fuelled work boat.

TOOL member Greenstat will be responsible for the onshore facility producing the emission-free hydrogen and an innovative bunkering solution for the boat.

The money is granted by Pilot-E, advancing new, competitive companies within environmentally friendly technology. The project will pilot hydrogen-technology, using the aquaculture industry as a starting point. If the pilot is successful, the hydrogen technology can eventually be transferred to larger well-boats and other energy-intensive vessels at sea.

Through this project, a new and important step can be made towards an emission-free maritime sector.
